Te Waikoropupu Springs
Te Waikoropupu Springs, more commonly referred to as “Pupu Springs”, is known for the clarity of its' water, and the volume of water it produces, which is roughly 14,000 litres of water every second!
A spiritually sacred place for Maori, the springs are looked after by the Department of Conservation, and are a wonderful place to visit and see some of the clearest water in the world.
It's an easy walk to the springs through native bush and ttree, and when you come to the clearing you know you have made it to the spring. You will be in awe at the clarity of the water, but sadly you can't drink from it!
