Wainui Falls
One of the largest and most accessible waterfalls in the Golden Bay area, a walk to Wainui Falls is the perfect outing for the whole family.
An easy trek through amazing native greenery, this walk follows the Wainui river to the waterfall.
Follow the sound of rushing water, and once you reach the famous swing bridge, you know you are close to the waterfall! It is one of our favourite walks, and we think it will be yours too!

If you're looking for something a little bit extra to do on the way to or from the falls, stop at Wainui Beach. With it's bright blue waters and golden sand, you would be forgiven for thinking you're in Greece! Wainui beach is well-known for it's shellfish. If you see people digging around in the sand with their toes they'll be looking for cockles, whcih are delicious when cooked with some wine and garlic. Give it a go, you'll be amazed with what you can find!
